Getting Around Summit County Colorado

One of the many amenities that make Summit County so livable is its impeccable transportation services. With a top of the line countywide transit system, abundance of shuttles and even mountain-to-town-gondolas, personal vehicles are almost as obsolete as any major city.

The county’s free bus system, Summit Stage, recently received 1.6 million dollars in DFOT grants to replace aging buses and upgrade facilities including the transfer center in Frisco, while the free Breckenridge bus system received more than 3 million in transportation grants for the same purposes.

Acclaimed as a highly progressive transit system, the transportation in Summit County is fast, efficient and on time. Bus to the chairlifts on powder days or home from downtown after a late night out. And if you want to avoid the roads during the warmer months, you can even take a water taxi between Dillon and Frisco. Easily access the entire county without being limited to one town.

Additionally, there is an ample amount of transportation options when the time comes for a trip down to Denver. Whether you’re trying to catch a weekend show at Red Rocks or catch a flight leaving from DIA, there are many affordable shuttles that will take you (and your skis) to and from a variety of Front Range destinations.
