St. Anthony Summit Medical Center has been Summit County’s primary healthcare resources since 1978, offering the region’s highest level of general and surgical care (peak one surgical care), and emergency services 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It is also the mountain base for Flight For Life, the nation’s first civilian medical helicopter founded in 1972.
In addition to fast and responsive emergency care, there are many options for full service, comprehensive health care from dentistry to ophthalmology, women’s to senior health care, and even the best orthopedic services in the country. in the country.
When it comes to highly acclaimed institutions in Summit County, alongside healthcare sits education. One of Colorado’s highest-ranking school districts, Summit County is home to a Regional 4A high school with grades 9 through 12 comprising a student body of roughly 700. Summit High is centrally located at Farmer’s Korner, in unincorporated Summit County just two miles south of Frisco. Summit High and Summit Middle School (Frisco) are fed by the seven neighboring communities elementary schools.

Summit County also is home to Colorado Mountain College (CMC), a fully accredited four year university enrolling X? number of students with campuses in Dillon and Breckenridge. CMC has a wide array of course selections in different areas of study, as well as state of the art campus facilities, and provides a variety of educational programs and lectures to the community.
