Breckenridge is one of the best places to be in the fall. The leaves change color and our festivals are some of the best around. You can hoist a beer stein, mountain bike through golden aspen trees, taste some of the best wine, watch amazing indie films, or one of our favorites, visit stunning homes decorated beautifully! Make sure to dress in layers though – it can be 70 degrees and sunny, or we might get our first snowstorm of the season … you just never know. As is true in many resort communities, Breckenridge and Summit County’s employee housing stock has not been able to keep up with demand, creating challenges for both employers and employees. As one of the most popular tourist destinations in the United States, Breckenridge experiences significant housing demand from full-time residents, resort visitors, second homeowners, and seasonal employees. There is a shortage of housing for local workers, as they can’t afford to live close to their jobs at high prices.
