20 Million summer recreation upgrades planned for Breckenridge Ski Resort

This will be the second Epic Discovery program that has been developed by Vail Resorts. It will feature a wide range of activities Breckenridge Ski Resort of mountain-biking trails across Peaks 7 and 8 at the Breckenridge Ski Resort. There will be a lookout tower which will allow hikers in the Horseshoe Bowl to enjoy the mountain views.

Visitors will be challenged with multiple courses of rope, bridges and zip lines. There will even be a climbing wall molded after a natural climbing area in Colorado. Canopy tours will pair small groups and a guide to view the forest from above. There are even activities for the young children in the adventure parks with slides, bungee trampolines etc.

Epic Discovery is an environmental program educating the public of the importance of our forests in Colorado and to raise funds to help conserve them. It will be a unique opportunity in Breckenridge to integrate the cultural history and heritage of the town set up on the mountain.

Full approval of the Epic Discovery program in Breckenridge is pending from the National Forest. Construction is estimated to being in summer 2014 and will take about one year to complete.
