Summit County LifeStyle

In most parts of the country, people don’t typically mention the name of their county when asked where they live, but the residents of Breckenridge, Frisco, Dillon and Silverthorne will simply reply with, “Summit County.”

At approximately 30,000 year-round residents, the towns that comprise the area make up a tight-knit community. The county boasts an open, friendly atmosphere creating a small town feel, yet easy access to necessities and modern amenities makes the area the ideal, year-round home. With self-sustaining local economies, abundant shopping, avid nightlife and an endless supply of outdoor activities, its no wonder Summit County has been famously dubbed “Colorado’s playground.”

Few counties in the nation enjoy as much name recognition. The reason is obvious: Summit is home to four internationally known ski resorts, world-class fishing, and some of the most scenic hiking and biking in the country. “Summit County” has become synonymous with Colorado’s high country and represents the pinnacle of the nation’s ski and hospitality industry, but there are so many hidden gems that the locals enjoy. Spend the summer on Lake Dillon; go golfing during a sunset; zip line through the fresh mountain air; take a white water rafting class; eat at a 5-star restaurant in Breckenridge and catch a movie in Dillon; the list goes on and on. Whatever lifestyle suits you, you are sure to find it here. You just have to get used to the altitude.
