The Breckenridge Wine Festival: Take a Trip to Italy
Who needs Napa when you can have Breckenridge? This weekend’s Breckenridge Wine Festival is all about celebrating the luxury of living in a quaint mountain community. Venture to Italy without ever leaving the fresh, Rocky Mountain air. As if we needed another reason to love summer real estate in Breckenridge.
The Festival will feature exclusive wine seminars taught by master sommeliers. The hundreds of selections being poured will accompany a variety of delicacies to sample and live music to enjoy, making the Breckenridge Wine Festival a truly family-friendly event.
When it comes to the biggest wine consumer in the United States, New York, California and Florida currently take the lead. Maybe it’s due to the fact that the roughly 240 craft breweries in Colorado are holding everyone’s attention, but that isn’t stopping the Centennial State from becoming the up and coming Napa Valley.
Well, maybe not quite, but Colorado is luring in quite a few wineries as of late, brining the number of producers to roughly 120. That puts us in the top 15 biggest U.S. wine manufacturing states to date.
It goes without saying that craft beer is one of Colorado’s specialties – a staple for which the state certainly receives the proper accolades. It’s not often, however, that Coloradans can come together locally and take part in tasting some of the finest wines from around the globe.
While the event will feature imported wines from California, Chicago, Italy, Argentina and more, it will also celebrate the growth of the craft wine industry taking place in our own backyard.
The Breckenridge Wine Festival will take place in downtown Breckenridge this weekend, on Friday, July 24 and Saturday, July 25. There are a variety of tickets available to purchase for the event, the proceeds of which will go to benefit the Breckenridge Rotary Club.
As Benjamin Franklin once said of wine, “it’s natures gift… a constant reminder that god loves us and wants us to be happy.” Don’t miss this summer highlight!
