Aspen real estate sales picking up a bit
The last couple of years the trend of the Aspen real estate market is that more buyers are being patient and waiting until the end of the summer to make offers. The pace of residential real estate offers and closings quickened over the past three weeks even though there are not as nearly as many people in twon as there is during the summer months.
The inventory of the residential market in Pitkin County is down 9 percent through August compared with the first eight months of last year and a 13 percent increase in properties under contract.
The price per square foot in condominium and single-family-home values are up about 5 percent through August compared to the same period last year. It is expected that the price per square foot will be up between 5 and 10 percent.
